Climate Inclusion International (CII) is a non-profit disability advocacy and inclusion organization that was established in 2023. Our primary mission is to advocate for the full and meaningful inclusion of people with disabilities in global climate change actions. We believe that individuals with disabilities should be active participants in the discussions, decisions, and solutions related to climate change.

CII was founded to address the significant gap in the inclusion of people with disabilities in the climate change movement. Despite being one of the most vulnerable groups affected by climate change, individuals with disabilities have often been left out of the conversation. We aim to change that by raising awareness, advocating for inclusive policies, and fostering collaboration between the disability and climate communities.

CII employs various strategies to achieve its mission, including:

  • Advocacy: We engage with policymakers, organizations, and stakeholders to promote policies and practices that prioritize the inclusion of people with disabilities in climate action efforts.
  • Education and Awareness: We provide resources, training, and awareness campaigns to educate the public and decision-makers about the intersection of disability and climate change.
  • Collaboration: We collaborate with disability organizations, climate groups, and other stakeholders to ensure that the voices and needs of individuals with disabilities are integrated into climate-related initiatives.

Disability inclusion in climate change actions is crucial for several reasons:

  • Equity: People with disabilities often face disproportionate impacts from climate change. Inclusion ensures that vulnerable populations are not left behind.
  • Expertise: Individuals with disabilities offer unique perspectives and expertise that can lead to more effective and inclusive climate solutions.
  • Human Rights: Disability inclusion is a matter of human rights. All individuals, regardless of ability, have the right to participate in decisions that affect their lives and well-being.

You can get involved with CII by:

  • Donating: Your financial support helps us carry out our advocacy and inclusion initiatives.
  • Volunteering: We welcome volunteers who are passionate about disability inclusion and climate action.
  • Spreading the Word: Share our mission and resources to raise awareness about disability inclusion in climate change.
  • Partnering: If you represent an organization or group aligned with our mission, consider partnering with us to further our collective impact.
